Crimson LegionStraight answers about WPA, item cost efficiency, the Crimson League, scrims, draft, chat and privacy.
No. Crimson Legion is an unofficial, fan-made community project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Omeda Studios or pred.gg. Predecessor and related names are trademarks of their respective owners, and all game art, names and logos belong to Omeda Studios.
We take game data from public sources (pred.gg), while analytics such as WPA and item cost efficiency, and the Crimson League (in preparation), are our own solutions.
Not for browsing: you can open builds, the knowledge base, the comparison tool, the leaderboard, patch notes, the guide and this FAQ as a guest.
You need an account to create and save your own builds, look for players (LFG), and use scrims, training and your profile. Sign in with pred.gg or Discord.
Sign in with one of them and add the other in your profile, on the Integrations tab. Linking pred.gg shows your characters and match stats, and linking Discord unlocks the social features.
Some social features (including scrims and, once it launches, chat) require both accounts to be linked. You get the Crimson APP role on our Discord server after linking your accounts and joining the server.
WPA (Win Probability Added) shows how much a team's chance of winning changed after a specific event. It starts from a win-probability model: for a match state (gold and level difference, destroyed structures, key objectives) it estimates which team is closer to victory.
An item's WPA is the change in that chance after it is completed compared with just before the purchase, averaged over a sample of matches. We only show a result from 15 matches, separately for games when ahead (above 55% win chance) and when behind (below 45%). A + sign means a higher chance of winning, a − sign a lower one.
We calibrated the model by hand on match data, so it is an estimate, not a verdict: it cannot see communication or decisions that leave no trace in the data, and with a small sample the result fluctuates.
The WPA algorithm is based on the method from xPet's thesis “Win probability estimation for strategic decision-making in esports” (Aalto University, 2024, licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Thank you for sharing the method. Thesis · Video about the thesis
Gold Efficiency compares the value of an item's stats with its price. We value each stat at the price you pay for it in tier 1 items (e.g. physical power from Shortsword), add up the value and divide it by the item's cost.
100% means a fair price, and above 100% the item “gives more than it costs”. Colors: green above 100%, yellow from 90 to 100%, blue below 90%, where part of the price goes to the passive.
It is a supporting metric, not a rating of item strength: passive and active effects are not priced, so a strong item can have a low efficiency.
You pick a hero, then step by step set the augment, crest and vision, the items and the skill order. Next to it, the calculator shows stats, effects and damage (including on a test dummy) as you go, and the match impact (WPA) next to items.
Your draft is saved locally in the browser. You can publish a saved build, and copy other players' builds to your own and like them.
We read heroes, items and eternals from public pred.gg data, and player stats and match history from their public API. These resources are read-only for us, and the art and names belong to Omeda Studios.
We compute the analytics (WPA, cost efficiency) ourselves from this data. After each game update the data is refreshed, and we describe the changes in the patch notes.
Auto Scrimmer (coming soon) assembles a scrim automatically. Any signed-in player can create one by choosing a mode: 3v3 Crucible (6 players) or 5v5 Standard (10 players). Players join the waiting room without choosing roles or teams.
When the lobby is full, the system creates a scrim with the chosen settings, starting 10 or 15 minutes after it fills. The “by ELO” split picks teams so that the average points of the current split (VP) are close, and in 5v5 also so that everyone plays as close to their position as possible; “Full random” draws the teams.
A lobby that does not fill expires after 60 minutes. The result is an ordinary scrim, with a lobby code, reminders and a result from pred.gg, and the Auto Scrimmer does not change league ELO.
Draft (coming soon) is a tool for bans and hero picks before a match. You run it on its own (two team links and a spectator link), in a scrim or in the league. Before it starts, all participants join the draft lobby.
Draft gives you the decisions and a lobby code but does not enforce them in the game: only the league checks, after the match, that heroes match the picks, using pred.gg data.
Crimson League is an unofficial 3v3 ranked league in Crucible mode; it is in preparation (“coming soon”). You join the queue solo or in a party, and the system assembles a match of 6 players with similar ELO and asks everyone to accept within 30 seconds.
Then the 3v3 draft starts: 3 bans per team, each player picks their own hero, and bans are decided by a team majority vote. Finally you get a lobby code and play a Crucible match. We detect the result automatically from pred.gg history, and ELO and rank update without manual entries.
The league (coming soon) starts as Season 0, a test season. Results and ELO count normally, but league parameters may be adjusted, and Season 1 starts with the official 1.0.
League tiers have English names in both languages: Ash, Iron, Ember, Obsidian, Bloodstone, Crimson, Crimson Apex.
In the league (coming soon) we compare the drafted heroes with who was actually played after the match, using pred.gg data. Swapping heroes between teammates is allowed, so it is a violation only when a hero outside the team's picks is played.
If the team breaking the draft loses, the honest team's win counts, and the offender loses double ELO and gets a 24-hour queue ban. Honest players are never punished for someone else's violation. You can also report a problem in the match, and an administrator makes the final decision.
Penalties in the league (coming soon) are graduated and apply only to the guilty. Not accepting a match is a 5-minute queue ban, and not entering the draft lobby a 10-minute one, in both cases without losing ELO.
Leaving the draft or missing a pick costs −10 ELO and a 15-minute ban, −20 ELO and 60 minutes on a repeat, and −35 ELO and 24 hours the third time (we count events from the last 30 days). A draft violation is settled by a separate matrix with a 24-hour ban.
Values may be adjusted in Season 0. An administrator can reverse any penalty, and we keep penalty and ELO records for 12 months.
Chat (coming soon) covers a public room, team chats, LFG and scrim lobbies, and private messages. You write plain text only (1–500 characters, no clickable links), and messages with profanity are rejected with a notice. The public room has slow mode: one message every 3 seconds.
You report a message from the menu next to it, choosing a reason (one report per person and message). You can block a user, and in private messages choose who may write to you. Moderators can hide and delete messages and mute for 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days; a human always makes the decision.
Administrators do not read private messages as they happen: they only see a snapshot of a reported message.
Yes. The public chat and the league chat are connected to the #general and #crimson-league-chat channels on our Discord server: your message appears there under your nickname and avatar, and you see messages from those channels in the app.
To see the conversation on Discord too, you need the Crimson APP role (you get it after linking your pred.gg and Discord accounts and joining the server). Team chats, lobbies and private messages are not connected to Discord. Chat is in preparation (“coming soon”).
We store the data needed for the platform to work: your profile (nickname, avatar, roles), linked pred.gg and Discord accounts, your builds, comments, scrim and event sign-ups, and settings. Details and legal bases are in the Privacy Policy.
You can delete your account yourself in your profile, under settings (danger zone). Deletion is permanent: your personal data will be deleted or anonymized. You also have rights under the GDPR, including access and rectification; if you have questions, write via the Contact form.
